Community Legal Information

Community Legal Information – also known as CLI – is a registered PEI charity that has been helping Island residents since 1985. CLI helps people understand the law and navigate the justice system.

CLI provides easy-to-understand legal information in multiple languages. Their staff can help you in English, French, Portuguese, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

CLI also offers a low-cost Lawyer Referral Service. This service offers a 45-minute consultation with a lawyer for $25.00.

CLI also operates these three following programs:

RISE Program

RISE provides free legal resources and support to people who have experienced intimate partner or sexual violence, and workplace sexual harassment. RISE offers up to 4 hours of free legal advice through its Lawyer Referral Service.

Justice Avenues

Justice Avenues offers legal advice and information to racialized people on PEI. Support is available about Family Law, Criminal Law, and/or Immigration Law matters. The program offers up to 4 hours of free legal advice through its Lawyer Referral Service.Website: www.justiceavenues.ca

Renting PEI

Renting PEI helps tenants and landlords understand their rights and responsibilities. They provide legal information, referrals, and support during the rental hearing process.
