Beyond the Frame is proud to present Village Keeper as part of our screening series, a platform for underrepresented Canadian stories and filmmakers. Village Keeper, directed by Karen Chapman, and an Official Selection of TIFF ’24, follows Jean, a mother navigating poverty, family trauma, and survival as she relocates her children to the Toronto community where she grew up. The film explores the weight of generational silence and the strength it takes to break cycles of harm.
