Let’s Kiki II is a BIPOC-exclusive dance event rooted in joy, resistance, and the freedom to take up space. Returning to The Guild in Charlottetown after the incredible success of last year’s inaugural event, Let’s Kiki continues to be a powerful celebration of what it means to move, exist, and thrive at the intersections of BIPOC and queer identity.
This gathering was created in response to the ongoing gap in queer celebrations across so-called Canada, where BIPOC queer folks are often sidelined, tokenized, or made to feel like guests in their own community spaces. Let’s Kiki offers something different: a night where BIPOC folks are the moment, where movement becomes a language of healing, resistance, and collective power. Last year, we danced, laughed, cried, and held each other. We proved that when we create space by us and for us, something magical happens. Let’s Kiki II builds on that magic, inviting BIPOC queer folks to once again show up fully, fabulously, and unapologetically
