Pride PEI Board Elections

A Special General Meeting has been scheduled for January 19, 2022. Its sole purpose is to elect a new Board of Directors to represent the organization for the remainder of the 2022 Operational Year.

The newly-elected Directors will serve until Pride PEI's 2022 AGM, which will be held no later than Oct. 31, 2022.

Directors must come from the current Membership and must fulfil the qualifications, requirements, and obligations set out in the Constitution and Bylaws of the organization, which can be accessed online at https://bit.ly/bylaws-public.

The Trustees and the Nominations Committee share the goal to provide Pride PEI members with as much information as possible in advance of the SGM so everyone feels informed and prepared (names/bios of nominees, clarity of meeting structure, voting process, etc.). This timeline gives us time to prepare and deliver this Election Information Package.

Nominations for the Pride Board will also be accepted from the floor at the 2022 SGM, and each floor candidate will be given two minutes to speak.

The Nominations Committee strongly believes that it is much more effective to introduce yourself to members in advance of the SGM. The self-nomination process itself demonstrates the ability to effectively complete an administrative project and meet a deadline, which is an essential part of any Board Director's skill set (funding/grant applications, reports, communications with members and other stakeholders, record-keeping, etc.).

The Nominations Committee is Chaired by a Trustee (in lieu of a Director as mandated in the bylaws), and also includes the Chief Returning Officer, both ex-officio.

Committee Members are:
Rosie Shaw, Chair (she/her)
AinZ Kendrick (they/she)
Jill MacIntyre (she/her)
Noah Malcolm (he/him)
Yigale Nyado (she/her)
Kelly Robinson, Chief Returning Officer (she/her)
